【フルハウスで英語学習】吹替版でなぜか悪化するジョーイの時間音痴

今回取り扱うのは80年代のシットコム「フルハウス」のシーズン１第４話「パパたちのおそうじ大作戦」。

今回はジョーイの時間音痴具合が吹替版でオリジナルよりかなりひどくなっている場面があったため、この記事の中でご紹介いたします。

Script

「俺の命の恩人だ」と言ってジェシーが連れてきたカメ「バーバ」を、ダニーとジョーイは急いで隠します。

D.J. とステファニーがこっちにやってくる音が聞こえたからです。

小さいあの子たちがこのカメをみたら、飼いたいと言い出すに決まっています。

しかし、結局バレてしまいバーバを飼うことに。

それに喜んだステファニーが去り際に放ったあるひとことで、ダニーはとんでもない事実を知ることになります。

Steph:

What a great day.
We get a turtle, and grandma’s coming to visit.

Danny:

Stephanie.
Sweetheart, honey.
Baby.
Did you just say grandma’s coming?

Steph:

That’s what she said on the phone.

Danny:

Well, why didn’t you say something?

Steph:

Nobody asked me.

Danny:

Steph, it’s not possible for me to ask you every question.
Do you know how many questions there are in the world?

Steph:

Eight

Danny:

What time is grandma coming, honey?

Joey:

The plane gets in at 5:12, sugar hips.

Danny:

Sweetheart, go upstairs and play with Bubba.
Joey, how did you know about my mother?

Joey:

I answered the phone when she called.

Danny:

Why didn’t you say something?

Joey:

Nobody asked me.

ダニーの母クレアが家に到着する前に、散らかり放題の我が家を掃除しなければ怒られてしまいます。

ダニーはすぐにジェシーとジョーイにも協力を要請し家の掃除に取り掛かります。

しかし、ジョーイが言っていた時間よりも早くクリアは到着してしまいます。

Danny:

Mom, what are you doing here so early?
Joey said you’d be in at 5:12.

Claire:

Try 12:05.

Joey:

I guess you had to find out sooner or later.
My name is Joey, and I’m a time dyslexic.
